Location: Cumming surgery center
Schedule: Tuesday - Friday; 5:00am - 3:30pm
Job Type: Full Time

• Demonstrates a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor while he/she greets and checks in patients, visitors, and vendors. 
• Collects payment from patients; manages a daily collection log for co-pays, balances, deposits. Prepares deposit and arranges for courier pick up.
• Maintains the cleanliness and tidiness of the patient waiting rooms (replenishing coffee, etc.)
• Screens every visitor and responds accordingly. Adheres to all company procedures and policies for receiving deliveries (Fed Ex, UPS, USPS, couriers, etc.)
• Maintains a friendly and professional demeanor while answering and routing phone calls.
• Verifies patient’s demographic and insurance information. Makes appropriate changes in the EMR system to ensure all patient information is correct.
• Assesses patient needs (wheelchairs/ambulation requirements) and assists with vendor drop-off, patient pickup, etc.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality when servicing patients.
• Orders and maintains office supplies and break room inventory.
• Maintains area of special assignment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 
• Minimum one year’s experience in customer service in a high-volume atmosphere.
• Prefer minimum two years’ experience as front desk coordinator in a health care organization to include basic knowledge of insurance plans, coverage, and procedures.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions: In this role, you'll experience the rigorous yet rewarding physical demands of the job. You can expect to stand, walk, talk, and hear during your shifts. There may be occasions when you're on your feet for extended periods, involving tasks such as pushing, pulling, or moving patients on stretchers. Your work environment may expose you to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, sharps, and cleaning solutions. You'll need to move all extremities within the full range of motion and perform stooping and bending at 90 degrees. Regularly, you'll lift and move objects up to 20 pounds and possess specific vision abilities, including close vision. The surgical arena features a moderate noise level, creating a professional and supportive atmosphere dedicated to patient care and your professional development.
